Racing Rules
The idea of one design is to assure that those wishing to race all start with identical yachts, the measurements and weights being very similar. Though each will differ marginally because of different building techniques, this difference will be quite small and will not give anyone an advantage.

The skill will come from the skippers ability to set up and sail the yacht and to make it go faster than the others, this can only be achieved with practice.

To make the competition fair for all, certain rules need to be followed, these are as follows.
The rules have been kept as simple and as straight forward as possible to encourage the relaxed and friendly racing that the Fiesta has become known for.
The Start
A yacht crossing the start line before the gun or start signal shall return and re-cross the line, in doing so it shall not impede or hinder yachts that started correctly.
Starboard Port
A yacht sailing on a starboard tack will have right of way over a yacht sailing on Port tack.
Windward Leeward
The Leeward yacht shall have right of way over a Windward yacht.
Inside Position at Buoys
Approaching a buoy the inside yacht shall have preference over the outside yacht which shall give room.
